This Fort Smith bathroom remodel started with a serious problem hidden below the surface. A slow, undetected leak caused by faulty previous plumbing work had damaged several floor joists and wall assemblies, creating rot and allowing mildew to develop.
Once the damaged materials were removed, we completed the necessary structural repairs and reframed portions of the interior walls to support a better layout. The original bathroom had a small shower, a dropped ceiling, dated tile, and a segmented floor plan that made the room feel cramped. By adjusting the footprint slightly, relocating and updating the plumbing, and removing the dropped ceiling, we were able to create a larger shower and a much brighter, more open space.
The finished remodel included custom tile flooring, a new shower and base, drywall, texture, paint, and trim. We also preserved and repurposed portions of the existing millwork where it made sense, blending useful existing elements into a bathroom that feels significantly more functional and current.
